"I only wanted to play the Drums" - Ringo Starr talks to 6 Music Breakfast

Shaun Keaveny

Available for over a year

Ringo Starr has just releasing his 19th solo album. It's called Give More Love As with a lot of Ringo's albums - and indeed his all-star touring band - there are a lot of guests. These include Joe Walsh and Timothy B Schmidt from The Eagles, Edgar Winter, Peter Frampton, Benmont Tench from The Heartbreakers, Dave Stewart... and some bloke called Paul McCartney who popped along to play on two songs. The album is called Give More Love - that's obviously something that's dear to Ringo - that's his catchphrase after all. "Peace and Love!" so Matt Everitt chatted with him about where this attitude comes from, about the new album, playing with his mate Macca and if he still has a passion for the drums...
