For our Queer Icons series, Stella Duffy champions Carol, a novel by Patricia Highsmith. First published under a different name (The Price of Salt) in 1952, Carol is a love story set in fifties New York. Stella Duffy is a theatre-maker and writer, whose latest novel is The Hidden Room. She is also founder of the Fun Palaces campaign. Extracts are read by Lorelei King. Queer Icons is Front Row’s celebration of LGBTQ culture.
