Sixty years ago BBC Swahili launched on a 60-mile shortwave radio signal in Tanzania. Now-a-days, dozens of journalists create daily radio and TV content from London, Kenya and Tanzania which is broadcast to tens of millions of people. The service was set up to provide Swahili speakers with an alternative news source. Rajan Datar visited the team in Broadcasting House in London to meet multimedia journalists Zuhura Yunus and Chama Matata to find out more about this 60-year-old service.
