EU Mobile Roaming Charges Scrapped

World Business Report

Available for over a year

There's celebration in the European Union as mobile roaming charges are abolished. The BBC's Joe Miller reports from the border between Poland and Germany, plus we get analysis from Richard Headland, editor of the British consumer magazine, Which. Also, following yesterday's fire in a tower block in London, we ask Chris Chapman of the Building Safety Group what more needs to be done to make tall buildings safe. Our contributor Alison van Diggelen reports from an event dubbed 'The Oscars of Silicon Valley' about frustration that the California technology sector isn't doing enough to attract female talent. The BBC's Michael Kaloki tells us about a conference in Nairobi, Kenya, aimed at helping farmers make better use of data around prices, weather and finding markets for their crops. Plus we meet New Zealand entrepreneur Peter Beck, whose company Rocket Lab aims to take satellites into space for much lower prices than those charged by rivals like Elon Musk's SpaceX.
