G7 World Leaders Demand Action on Online Extremist Content

Big Boss Interview

Available for over a year

At the end of a two-day summit in Siciliy, G7 leaders were not able to agree on climate change, but they did agree that internet providers need to crackdown on online extremism. The British Prime Minister, Theresa May, said the fight against terrorism had moved from the battlefield to the internet. Professor Alan Woodward of the Cyber Security Centre at Surrey University discusses this very topic. The US-Republican who has been charged with assaulting a British reporter has won a special congressional election in the state of Montana. Greg Gianforte allegedly grabbed Ben Jacobs by the neck with both hands and threw him to the ground. Mr Gianforte's staff accused Mr Jacobs of provoking the assault with his aggressive behaviour. Darrell Ehrlick is editor of the Billings Gazette - one of four Montana papers that were so outraged by the incident that they withdrew their earlier endorsements of the candidate. The UK election has been framed by many as the Brexit election. For many farmers, an EU subsidy, has been a lifeline. Others are worried about the future market for their lamb or beef, or where seasonal labour will come from if European migrant workers are denied access to the UK. Fergus Nicholl went to meet farmers working the land on the border between North Wales and England. Many people living with chronic illnesses like diabetes and HIV find it hard to get life insurance. A company in South Africa, AllLife, has tried to change that by tying premiums into effective health management. In many cases the patients' health measurably improves. Now the company's developing its business in Britain through a partnership with the insurer Royal London. Ross Beerman is CEO of AllLife.
