A Healthy Mandate

Good Morning Scotland

Available for over a year

The Trump administration took its first step this week towards undoing the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare as it’s more commonly known. The proposed replacement has already caused consternation nationally, with fears that many of the poor and elderly who had benefitted from health insurance under the previous legislation will lose their coverage. Bill Whiteford spoke to journalist and lecturer at the University of Maryland, Prof Sarah Oates about why government-mandated health insurance has become such a divisive issue.
