Parents urged to teach mother tongue to children

An Urdu teacher from America is encouraging Asian parents in Northamptonshire to teach their children their mother tongue. Shahid Khan is founder of the organisation BRICK, which stands for Brooklyn Rebuild Immigrant Communities and Knowledge. He has been helping parents and teachers of various Asian languages to teach their children language skills. He is carrying out a trial with communities who speak Urdu in Northampton, and speaks about this in the following interview with our reporter Suki Somal
