Final Push for French Presidential Candidates

World Business Report

Available for over a year

It was a weekend of campaigning, and of protest, as Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron headed into the final week of one of the most tensely anticipated French Presidential races in history. Ms Le Pen sought to broaden her electoral appeal by striking a pact with the mainstream nationalist "Stand Up France," but faced criticism from a number of non-governmental organisations who urged the French public to turn out and vote for Mr Macron. With the much anticipated final tv debate between the candidates looming, French journalist Agnes Poirier joins us from Paris to look at the race's final week. Also on the programme, we'll hear about the tourist boom in the Middle East, being driven by visitors from China. Ala Andriuta from the travel booking company Tourico explains what's behind the uptake in trips. OPEC members meets this month to decide if it should continue its strategy of limiting oil production. We get analysis from industry expert Amrita Sen, who is in the Canadian energy hub Calgary. Are fund mangers factoring in the threat of climate change into their investment plans? Julian Poulter, the chief executive of the Asset Owners Disclosure Project, joins us from Sydney, to tell us why it's vital they do. And, coffee or tea? The BBC's Alex Ritson has been finding out why that most quintessential of British drinks is floundering in the popularity stakes on the streets of London against its upstart coffee contender.
