Saffiyah Khan: ‘I would stand up to anyone who I thought was acting immoral’

The image of local resident, Saffiyah Khan smiling at Ian Crossland at a recent English Defence League (EDL) protest in Birmingham has gone viral. She intervened when she witnessed another women wearing a headscarf being surrounded by a group of protestors. Jane speaks to her about the image and it's reaction. Saffiyah says, 'if I saw something happening to an EDL member in a situation where it was not fair or they were being intimidated for whatever reason, I'd happily step in.'
