Lizzie Kelly: Cheltenham Gold Cup fall ‘horrific’

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Jockey Lizzie Kelly, who guided the 10-1 shot Tea For Two to victory on the opening day of the Grand National meeting at Aintree, says her fall in the Cheltenham Gold Cup did the horse the “world of good”. Kelly, who was the first female jockey in Cheltenham’s Gold Cup for 30 years, was unseated at the second fence in March and described the moment as ‘horrific’ and ‘disastrous’. However, the 23-year-old told 5 live’s Sarah Brett that Tea For Two has now “learned if he doesn’t listen to me things will go wrong”. This clip is from 5 live sport on Thursday 6 April 2017.
