Regulators Probe Barclays Boss Over Whistleblower

Big Boss Interview

Available for over a year

Financial regulators are investigating the boss of Barclays Bank after he admitted breaking rules in order to identify a corporate whistleblower. We'll assess Jes Staley's actions with David Enrich of the Wall Street Journal and talk to a bank whistleblower Nicholas Wilson. After a video involving a United Airlines passenger being violently dragged off a flight went viral, we discuss the video that led to a social media storm and a PR nightmare with George Hobica from the website AirFares Watchdog. Also on the programme we find out why toy shops are increasingly catering for adult tastes and we discuss trade after five international economic organisations, including the IMF and the World Bank warn against the dangers of protectionism. And the FT's Lucy Kellaway offers advice on how not to talk to teenage children. Our guests today include Alexis Goldstein, an activist and financial reform advocate, in Washington DC and Madhavan Narayanan, a writer and former senior editor at the Hindustan Times, in Delhi and Phil Mercer in Sydney.
