The Independent's Travel Editor Simon Calder told BBC Radio Berkshire's Tony Blackburn where we should be thinking about going on holiday this year. Simon Calder, Travel Editor - The Independent: "Spain had a record year last year in terms of overseas visitors, but it now has too many tourists. When you get there you'll find prices will have all gone up. "Turkey has fantastic places to stay and lovely places to see and do, and my goodness it's cheap. "If you want a holiday with a difference then eastern Europe is the place to go. I was in Macedonia and it was almost back to 1980s prices. It feels very exotic...but absolutely enchanting."
