Maidenhead United: Smith says a narrow win still counts

Sport on BBC Radio Berkshire

Available for over a year

Maidenhead's Christian Smith says that the side don't need to blow sides away in league. The Magpies midfielder is just as happy grinding out results as he is defeating teams by five or six goals. "I said yesterday to the boys, it doesn't matter if we win five nil, six nil," he told BBC Radio Berkshire's Jack Winstanley. "A one nil is more than good enough for us." And despite some commentators saying that Maidenhead had an indifferent spell at the start of 2017, Smith thinks there has never been a drop off in their form. "We were still picking up results, it wasn't as if we were losing...we weren't playing the best, but we were picking up results along the way which was the main thing."
