Brexit Divorce Bill Could be €25bn

World Business Report

Available for over a year

Britain's EU divorce bill could be just €25bn, says an influential European think tank. Some estimates have suggested the European Union could seek up to €60bn, and we find out more from Zsolt Darvas, at the Bruegel think tank in Brussels. Also in the programme, John Nelson, chairman of the insurance market Lloyds of London, tells us why they are opening a new European subsidiary in Brussels, ahead of the UK leaving the EU. Kenya has unveiled its latest spending proposals, as the BBC's Ferdinand Omondi reports. Following controversy over an animal fat derivative in new plastic bank notes, the Bank of England has announced that its next issue might contain palm oil instead. Rachel Agnew from the UK's Rainforest Foundation tells us why conservationists are troubled by the idea. Plus the BBC's Theo Leggett reports on how industrial espionage is evolving in the 21st century. (Picture: British and European flags in sandcastles. Picture credit: BBC.)
