For those who manage to leave Syria, life does not get any easier. Almost five million refugees are in neighboring countries where conditions are increasingly desperate. Jamie Roberts is the director of the documentary War Child, and has spent the last few months following the journeys of child refugees. Among them, a Syrian girl called Rawan and her family, travelling through Europe. They were kidnapped, threatened and went days without food or water. (Image: Rawan, a Syrian child refugee.
