EU Workplace Headscarf Ban 'Can Be Legal'

Big Boss Interview

Available for over a year

The Court of Justice in Luxembourg has ruled that religious dress can be banned in the workplace, but only as part of a rule requiring neutral dress - prohibiting political, philosophical or religious symbols. We hear from human rights groups both in favour of and opposed to the ruling. Spain's foreign minister has said that a future independent Scotland would have to apply to join the European Union in its own right. The Spanish government has previously resisted calls from the northeastern region of Catalonia for a binding independence referendum, so might this be a factor in their strong position? We hear from the BBC's Guy Hedgecoe in Spain. The California raisin industry is not as strong as it once was, with falling prices forcing some farmers to look to other crops. We find out why from Andy Uhler of Marketplace. Do you fancy running one of the word's most iconic monuments? The Italian government are advertising for a new Director of The Colosseum and our correspondent James Reynolds investigates whether he is qualified to take the job on. And have you ever felt that your kettle would be better if only it were connected to the internet? We meet the inventor of the i-Kettle.
