Chinese Boycotting S Korean Stores

World Business Report

Available for over a year

A missile shield row means some of South Korea's Lotte stores are being closed in China. Jonathan Cheng of the Wall Street Journal in Seoul explains why Chinese state media is calling for a boycott of South Korean goods. Also in the programme, the BBC's Simon Jack is at the Geneva Motor Show, and has been talking to Jim Farley, who is the head of Ford in Europe, and Carlos Ghosn, chief executive of Renault and Nissan. Brazil is in the midst of its longest ever recession, as the BBC's Daniel Gallas reports from Sao Paulo. Rising demand for Chinese herbal medicine has led to an increase in the theft of donkeys in Kenya, as the BBC's Immanuel Muasya explains, and we get context from Dil Peeling of the London-based animal welfare charity, Brooke. Plus we talk to the creator of the world's first blue wine, Taig McCarthy of Gik, about why the product has fallen foul of European law, which says wine must be red, white or rose.
