Following Alastair Cook's decision to step down as the England Test captain, after a record 59 Test in charge, batsman Joe Root is take over as leader of the national side. Root made his debut against India in 2012 and 54 Tests later he's become one of the world's finest batsmen. England's Gary Ballance used to live with Root whilst playing for Yorkshire and he told Stumped's Alison Mitchell that Root's "ready for the responsibility" of being England captain.
