Trump Backs Keystone and Dakota Pipelines

World Business Report

Available for over a year

US president Donald Trump has accelerated two controversial oil pipeline projects. We get the perspective of Bill McKibben of the campaign group 360.org, who tells us why his organisation has fought against the Keystone XL pipeline. Also in the programme, the British government says it will introduce legislation within days to start the formal process of leaving the EU, after the Supreme Court ruled the UK parliament must have a say. We discuss where this leaves Brexit negotiations with Roger Bootle of Capital Economics, and Daniel Gros from the Centre for European Policy Studies. Bernie Ecclestone has been replaced at the helm of Formula One motor racing by the sport's new owners, Liberty Media. Simon Chadwick is professor of sports enterprise at Salford University, and tells us the background to the move. Plus the BBC's Zoe Kleinman reports from the London Toy Fair on which brands are angling for success this year. (Picture: Dakota Access pipeline protesters. Picture credit: Getty Images.)
