Available for over a year

Reading F.C Historian David Downs remembers the third round tie from 1927. "In the F.A. Cup we need to go back 90 years in 1927 when we were in the second division and they were in the first. We went all the way to the semi-finals and unfortunately we were beaten by eventual winners Cardiff City. "In those days you played until there was a winner. (Reading played Manchester United three times in the Third Round in 1927.) "In 1955 we managed to hold them to a 1-1 draw at Elm Park. We went to Old Trafford on a Wednesday afternoon and we were beaten 4-1."
