The number of people who are homeless in Britain is on the rise. Charities say the problem has reached crisis proportions. Increasingly local councils are having to use temporary accommodation and even bed and breakfasts to cope with a shortage of affordable accommodation. It has become an increasingly profitable business for landlords. Against a backdrop of radical changes to the way benefits in Britain are paid to families in need, Simon Cox reports from the front line of the homelessness crisis.
