Are food banks a sign of increasing poverty in the UK? Dr Kayleigh Garthwaite of Durham University has authored a book on food banks. As part of her research, she learned that aside from data collected privately by British food bank charity, The Trussell Trust, no official figures exist for the number of food banks in the country.
