Victoria Wood was talent-spotted by a BBC producer while studying drama at Birmingham University. She was working part-time as a barmaid in a pub - playing comic songs on the piano - when she was invited to audition at Pebble Mill. This clip is from a 1985 BBC WM interview with presenter Ed Doolan.
