Available for over a year

In a ceremony at the city's guildhall, former footballer and charity ambassador Francis Benali received the freedom of Southampton from the Mayor Cathie McEwing. He's known to thousands for his 20 year stint at Saints, making 389 first-team appearances between 1987 and 2004. More recently he has turned his attention to charity fundraising. It's in recognition of his fundraising achievements that he's been given the city's highest honour. After the ceremony, he spoke to BBC Radio Solent's Neil Sackley.
