Trump Targets Obama Legacy

Big Boss Interview

Available for over a year

Barack Obama's administration suspends its efforts to win congressional approval for the Trans-Pacific Partnership before president-elect Trump takes office. The TPP agreement was aimed at reducing trade barriers erected by some of the fastest growing economies in Asia and was one of president Obama's key trade goals. But Donald Trump has said he is against the deal, so what else of Mr Obama's legacy will he look to tear up? India's giant Tata Group is struggling on two fronts. Quarterly results for one of the key consortium members, Tata Steel, showed losses of nearly 500 million rupees - around 7.5 million dollars. And there's unprecedented turbulence in the boardroom too. We hear from the BBC's Sameer Hashmi in Mumbai. And we hear about a huge array of American inventions, in an interview with the American writer Kevin Baker. He tells Fergus Nicoll about his new book called America the Ingenious: How a Nation of Dreamers, Immigrants and Tinkerers Changed the World. Plus, why Finland is campaigning for a series of national emojis. Throughout the programme Fergus Nicoll is joined by Clinve Hunton from ABC News Radio in Canberra, Australia.
