Saudi Arabia Replaces Finance Minister

World Business Report

Available for over a year

Saudi's King Salman has replaced finance minister Ibrahim Al-Assaf after 20 years in post. Richard Thompson of the Middle East Economic Digest tells us how significant the appointment of Mohammed Al-Jadaan is likely to be. Also in the programme, the BBC's Marie Keyworth reports on how new border controls introduced because of Europe's migrant influx are changing lives in Denmark and Sweden. The Bank of England governor Mark Carney has confirmed he'll extend his contract for an extra year until June 2019. Our economic commentator Roger Bootle of Capital Economics gives us his take on Mr Carney's decision. With the US election just a week away, Michelle Fleury reports from Florida on how the state of the housing market might sway people's votes. Plus there are signs that fewer of us are choosing cereal for our first meal of the day. The BBC's Alex Ritson hit the streets of London to investigate our new morning habits.
