Rugby league's Sam Burgess ‘doesn’t regret’ union move

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

England rugby league star Sam Burgess has told 5 live's Adrian Chiles that he "doesn’t regret" his brief switch to rugby union in 2015. Burgess played 21 times for union side Bath, predominantly as a flanker, but was capped for England 5 times at centre. He said the switch of code "took a lot of dedication and a lot of commitment" but he doesn’t "make those calls" to where he plays. Sam was speaking in his first UK broadcast interview since returning to rugby league. He has since been named England's captain in the Four Nations, which begins this week against New Zealand, Scotland and Australia. This clip is originally from 5 live Daily on Monday 17 October 2016
