Assessing Trump and Clinton's Economic Plans

World Business Report

Available for over a year

At last night's presidential debate there was some room for economic discussion. We assess Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton's promises with Robert Shapiro, who is a senior fellow at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Also in the programme, Zambia has braced itself for a billion dollars of cuts to subsidies as part of a bailout deal with the International Monetary Fund. The BBC's Mutunda Chanda reports from Zambia, and we have analysis from Stephen Chan, professor of international relations at the School of Oriental and African Studies. Portuguese taxi drivers are staging a series of protests in Lisbon against ride sharing companies such as Uber, as the BBC's Alison Roberts explains from the city. The traditional yellow builder's hard hat is being phased out, in favour of colour coded black, orange, white and blue helmets, and the BBC's Robert Champion tells us why. Plus Lucy Kellaway of the Financial Times reflects on why, arguably, company results might benefit from having more pictures of fluffy cats in them.
