Google Launches New Phones and Devices

World Business Report

Available for over a year

Google has launched the Pixel phone and a range of other new devices. We ask technology analyst Rupert Goodwins whether the firm's bid to create an artificial intelligence digital personal assistant is likely to succeed. Also in the programme, the World Bank has said inequality across the world fell after the global financial crisis, though that's not always how it is perceived. Ana Revenga, senior director for the Poverty and Equity Global Practice at the World Bank explains its latest research, and our regular economic commentator Roger Bootle of Capital Economics explains what impact inequality has had on global growth. The BBC's Joe Miller reports from an American slum on the US-Mexico border, where people are trying to stay optimistic despite living in extreme poverty. Plus we have a report from the BBC's Theo Leggett at the Paris Motor Show on the lengths carmakers go to in order to provide a top of the range cup holder. (Picture: The Google Pixel phone range.
