Big Boss Interview

Available for over a year

Earlier this week Donald Trump delivered his first major economic policy speech. Today it's Hillary Clinton's riposte. We hear from Dan Mitchell of the conservative Cato Institute in Washington about Mrs Clinton's pitch to be taken seriously as the CEO of America Inc. At least eight million tonnes of plastic is thrown away every minute of every day - and a huge amount of it ends up in the vast ocean currents of the Pacific. Indonesia is the second biggest plastics polluter in the world - and the resulting clogged waterways are threatening both fishing and tourism industries. The BBC's Rebecca Henchke reports. If you thought slavery was a thing of the past, think again. Today, millions of men, women and children are still enslaved around the world. A report out this week from Verisk Maplecroft says that slavery is rife in 58% of countries - with China and India performing particularly badly. We hear from Alex Channer an author of the report. Pokemon Go may be the most downloaded app ever; and not everyone likes it. But we hear from Gary Dear - owner of Mad Hatter's Ice Cream in Anacortes, Washington State who says the app has helped turn round his business. We draw in some of the business headlines from elsewhere in the world and cross to Taiwan to hear from the BBC's Cindy Sui. We're joined throughout the programme by Alexis Goldstein in Washington DC. She's an activist and financial reform advocate. And we also hear from Sushma Ramachandran in Delhi. She's the former Business Editor of The Hindu.
