It was December 4th 1956 at the famous Sun Record recording studio in Memphis, Tennessee. Artist Carl Perkins was getting read to perform with Jerry Lee Lewis. So prestigious was the studio, Elvis Presley was also there at the time and Johnny Cash had turned up to talk contracts with legendary record producer Sam Phillips. All together, all in one place, all that talent that before long, they decided to jam together. The music from that night has inspired a hit Broadway and Westend show "Million Dollar Quartet". With hits like 'Blue Suede Shoes', 'Fever', 'That's All Right', 'Great Balls of Fire', 'Walk the Line', 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On', 'Who Do You Love?' and many more - the musical picked up huge accolades including a Tony Award. And now it's coming to Leicester... The role of producer Sam Phillips is played by an actor who's no stranger to musical theatre with leading roles in The Rocky Horror Show, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Sweeney Todd and most famously, Priscilla Queen of the Desert. A household name, a soap star favourite, a multi-million selling recording artist - Jason Donovan joined Jonathan Lampon, in the studio.
