Zimbabwe Hit by Public Sector Strikes

World Business Report

Available for over a year

Zimbabwean workers are protesting because their salaries have not been paid. We find out more from Wilf Mbanga, editor of The Zimbabwean newspaper. Also in the programme, amid claims from environmentalists that tens of thousands of people in Europe are killed by pollution from coal fired power stations each year, we hear about a plan to build a new coal mine in the northeast of England. And we assess coal's future prospects with Dr Craig Lowrey of UX Energy Services. The UK has said it will relax rules on balancing government books in the wake of the vote to leave the European Union. We ask Roger Bootle of Capital Economics if that was a smart move by Britain's Finance Minister, George Osborne. Plus we find out from Dr Jason Forshaw of the Surrey Space Centre at the University of Surrey about a mission to recover tonnes of space junk orbiting the earth.
