'I've run out of clothes!' – Saunders shock at Wales progress

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Former Wales striker Dean Saunders says he didn’t expect Wales to progress to the quarter-finals at Euro 2016, and has been surprised by their progress. Wales are playing in their first major tournament since 1958, and are through to the last eight after beating Northern Ireland 1-0 in Paris. “I parked in the short stay car park at Birmingham airport, I brought a small suitcase, I’ve run out of clothes and I’m going to have a £1,000 parking bill when I get back, that’s how confident I was!" Saunders said. “All of a sudden we’re three games away from winning it,” he added. This clip is from 5 live Sport, Sunday 26 June 2016.
