Brazil's Economy Shrinks for Fifth Consecutive Quarter

World Business Report

Available for over a year

Brazil's interim president warns his country is probably going through its worst recession ever. The BBC's Jon Bithrey is in Brazil, and reports on the country's preparations for the Olympics in August. Also in the programme, just three weeks from the British referendum on leaving the European Union, we bring together two leading economists, Roger Bootle of Capital Economics, and Professor John Van Reenan from the London School of Economics, to discuss the arguments for and against. And the world's longest and deepest rail tunnel has finally opened after almost two decades of construction work. Railway commentator Mark Smith, of The Man in Seat Sixty-One website, offers us his assessment. (Picture: A man holds up a Brazilian flag. Picture credit: Getty Images.)
