ICBC to be First Chinese Lender to own London Vault

World Business Report

Available for over a year

A Chinese investment bank is buying a gold vault in London to store the precious metal. Jonathan Spall is a commodities expert and founder of G Cubed Metals. He's visited the vault, and tells us about it. Also in the programme, hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets of Paris to protest a new labour law. The BBC's Hugh Schofield reports on the protests, and our economic commentator Roger Bootle compares France's labour laws to those in other European countries. In Spain, a huge tyre dump fire near Madrid is still smouldering. The BBC's Guy Hedgecoe tells us about the mystery behind 3 million tyres going up in smoke. And Golda Arthur reports from New York on the rise of the 'mending economy'. (Picture: Gold bars. Picture credit: Getty Images.)
