Sadiq Khan has been elected the new Mayor of London after a campaign which saw him attacked by his Conservative opponent Zac Goldsmith for allegedly sharing platforms with extremists. Speaking on the Today programme, Defence Secretary Michael Fallon was repeatedly asked by presenter Sarah Montague whether London was safe with Mr Khan as Mayor.
