‘Love’ can be a difficult word for the care system. But Laura Beveridge thinks its importance shouldn’t be underestimated. After spending seven years of her childhood in Scotland’s care system, and finding herself homeless aged 16, life looked very bleak. But after going back to school, gaining qualifications, and getting married, she’s now involved with the charity ‘Who Cares Scotland’, who provide advocacy for looked-after children – and she’s determined to make a difference.
