Brazil Impeachment Vote

World Have Your Say

Available for over a year

Chloe Tilley is live in Rio speaking with Brazilian people as the country's Senate votes on President Dilma Rousseff's possible impeachment. What do people make of the political crisis and the impeachment vote? The president is accused of illegally manipulating finances to hide a growing public deficit ahead of her re-election in 2014, which she denies. Ms Rousseff's lawyers have alleged bias and irregularities as she asked the Supreme Court to block impeachment proceedings against her. Ms Rousseff could be suspended for up to 180 days if senators vote for a full trial.
