Duterte Claims Victory in Philippine Election

Big Boss Interview

Available for over a year

The Mayor of Davao, Rodrigo Duterte, has claimed victory in the Philippine presidential election. With the vast majority of the votes counted, Duterte has secured more than 15 million votes - more than six million more than his nearest rival, Mar Roxas. His campaign focused on an extremely tough crack-down on crime and corruption in his home city, with some of his comments on the subject proving highly controversial. We ask Janvic Mateo of the Philippines Star what was so appealing about Mr Duterte's message. Efforts to impeach Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff have continued, but not without complications. The BBC's Daniel Gallas in Sao Paulo unravels the latest developments. We have a report on the first solar powered aircraft to circle the globe, and hear from the two pilots of the epic journey. And our regular commentator Lucy Kellaway asks when and where should you conduct a job interview? We're joined by two guests for the hour on opposite sides of the Pacific - David Moser is Academic Director at the CET Chinese Studies programme at Beijing Capital Normal University and Alison van Diggelen, host of freshdialogues.com, in Silicon Valley.
