The heart-breaking account of rhino poaching by Reserve Manager Charles Theron. It’s a story playing out several times a day in South Africa and other countries with rhino. It’s not new; rhino horn’s long been valued for trophies, dagger handles and traditional medicine but in Southern Africa numbers of white and black rhino have been increasing since their historic low back in the 1960s. 7-8 years ago though saw the start of a poaching epidemic, going from a handful to over a 1000 a year killed to supply an illegal horn trade.
