Spain's Abengoa Avoids Bankruptcy

World Business Report

Available for over a year

One of the world's biggest renewable energy companies has narrowly avoided bankruptcy. Spain's Abengoa would have become the country's biggest ever corporate failure, but the BBC's Guy Hedgecoe explains why the company has been given time to restructure its debts. Also in the programme, Japanese pensioners are reportedly turning to crime for free bed and board behind bars. Jeff Kingston, director of Asian studies at Temple University in Tokyo tells us more. We go under the bonnet of carmaker McLaren, which caters to the super-rich. And as World Business Report prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary, editor Martin Webber looks back at how our workplaces have changed in the past 25 years. (Picture: An Abengoa tower.
