The Wimbledon Prowler: £10 million stolen in 12 years

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

He works alone, hides in gardens working out when people are out and amongst his hauls so far is a safe containing £1 million. The Wimbledon Prowler has committed 450 burglaries in 12 years in South West London targetting the super rich and he rarely strays from a half mile wide area near to the Tennis Club. Nicholas Anelka is reported to have chased him from his house, and Boris Becker's CCTV captured a grainy image of him. Detective Inspector Dan O'Sullivan is leading the investigation for the Met Police. He says The Prowler "continues to keep his hand over his face" when committing his crimes, stealing "rings and diamond necklaces". This clip is originally from Phil Williams on Monday 14th March 2016.
