Sam Mayfield, the Bowel Cancer Blogger

Jonathan Lampon

Available for over a year

More than 41,500 men and women are diagnosed with bowel cancer every year in the UK. That is the equivalent of someone being diagnosed every 15 minutes. More than 2,000 of them are younger people, and it's the fourth most common cancer in the UK behind breast, lung and prostate cancer. On the 8 January 2016, Sam Mayfield from Leicester was diagnosed with bowel cancer. Since then, he has been sharing his journey online with a blog, sharing his experience and his day-to-day highs and lows. Sam and his mum Sarah joined Jonathan in the studio to chat about his experiences.
