An academic study has taken place looking at what The Archers could tell us about accent change, and things like "socio phonetics". The research was presented at a conference called "The Archers in fact and fiction: Academic analyses of life in rural Borsetshire" PM's reporter Chris Vallance once accidentally went to a lecture at university, so we sent him along.
