Archaeologists are now turning to our genes to investigate the ancient history of our species. A remarkable kinship exists between us all, as despite much variation among humans, what variation exists is comparatively tiny in genetic terms. The programme looks at the first settlers in Europe from Africa and how they dealt with the colder climate.
