Does growth matter?

Business Daily

Available for over a year

Why is it so important that an economy grows? Why is growth the holy grail of any economy? We discuss with Jonathan Portes, Principal Research Fellow at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research and Professor Giorgos Kallis of the School of Oriental and African Studies. Growth is important to create jobs though - especially for countries trying to accomodate migrants and refugees. We hear from a Syrian restaurant in Sydney helping those settling in Australia. Plus have you ever experienced niggling feelings of doubt in the workplace? That isn't a bad thing says our regular commentator Lucy Kellaway of the Financial Times. She argues that if you want to be succesful you should never believe your own hype. (Photo credit:Getty/KAZUHIRO NOGI)
