India Blocks Facebook's Free Net App

World Business Report

Available for over a year

Net neutrality campaigners celebrate a ruling from India's telecoms regulator. The Indian venture capitalist Mahesh Murthy gives us his view on the news, which blocks Facebook's 'Free Basics' programme. Also in the programme, with India's GDP growth last year overtaking China for the first time this century, we ask whether the benefits are being felt across the whole of the country. In Cape Town mining executives are trying to work out when their lot will improve, and the BBC's Matthew Davies is at a major mining conference there. Plus we go to the north of Scotland where a huge new gas plant has just come on stream, in spite of the industry struggling with falling prices. And our regular commentator, Lucy Kellaway tells us why there's nothing romantic about having a 'Boss Crush'. (Picture: Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Picture Credit: Getty Images.)
