Clothing label boss: We'll make our models eat

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

The boss of a British fashion label says she will make professional models eat a meal in front of her when they are employed for photo shoots. Heidy Rehman, the founder of womenswear brand Rose & Willard, is introducing a non-negotiable clause into modelling contracts after saying models she previously employed were so hungry they ended the day delirious. She told Afternoon Edition: "I know this is an approach that one could consider to be nannying but I feel it's the only thing that really we can do." "As a woman and as a founder of this brand I feel as though I have a responsibility to these young women that when they are in my care, which they are, when they come to a shoot that I should take care of them," she added. This clip is originally from Afternoon Edition on 1 February 2016.
