Woman put £33m lottery ticket in the wash

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

A woman has claimed she put a £33 million winning ticket through the wash. The lady presented the tattered bit of paper to a newsagent in Worcester yesterday. Natu Patel, who runs Ambleside News in Warndon, sold the jackpot ticket. He said she was "very nervous and frightened" when she presented the ticket. When asked if he thinks she is telling the truth, Patel said "hopefully it is true, but accidents do happen, and Camelot will be the best people to sort it out". This clip is originally from 5 live breakfast on Saturday 23 January 2016.
