Chuck D thanks Public Enemy fan who turned taxi driver

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Public Enemy rapper Chuck says he is 'grateful' to a fan who turned taxi driver when the band were left stranded before a gig. Kevin Wells crammed Chuck D, Flava Flav and their entourage into his Ford Focus after the taxi they had booked drove off as they finished an appearance at a record store. With time running out, Kevin was able to get the band to the gig at Sheffield's Motorpoint Arena on Saturday. And their journey was livened-up when he joined them in a spontaneous Wayne's World-style performance of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. "That was great but we're used to things like that and we're grateful he was able to give us a ride to the arena," says Chuck D. "We even invited him in. 'Come on stage with us' - but he had other things to do." This clip was originally from 5 live's Phil Williams show on 1st December 2015
